Miami’s bastard sons of bygone industrial culture mix blood and marrow on this collaborative split where both projects individually craft their own unique visions while simultaneously cultivating a symbiotic document born from a mutual respect and admiration for the other’s work. Carlos E. Oni’s The Siamese Pearl starts his portion of the circle with two tracks of his signature surrealist prose that melds censer ash mysticism and druidic perversity with beds of synth draped in a writhing, silken depravity. Equal parts Tantalus as there are Tartarus.

The second half of the circle marks the return of Richard Vergez’ ever inspiring post-industrial outfit Drowning The Virgin Silence to the Skin Trade roster. Those who picked up last year’s ‘Estate’ know the caliber of excellence that comes with Richard’s work, and his pieces contained here are a beautiful expansion on the modes found on that recording. Lush beds of field recordings and layered tape loops blossom into fertile soundscapes of temporal fog and obscured gesture. The perfect final arc of the cycle born of Lepra Selenic.
